The Focke Wulf Triebflügel was an experimental design for a German vertical take-off plane (VTOL), developed at the end of World War II as a defensive response to Allied bombing. The Nachtjäger (night fighter) version was a theoretical development aimed at intercepting bombers at night, and was intended to beto be equipped with radar sensors, more powerful armament and special equipment for night flights.
The aircraft had three rotating wings with jet engines that allowed it to take off and land perpendicularly without the need for a runway. However, this design never reached the prototype stage.
